This TransGo 700 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit fits 1982 to 1993 General Motors vehicles equipped with the 700R4/4L60 automatic transmission. This kit was designed for 1982-1987 units with a type-1 valve body; however, it will fit all year models and valve body types. If you have a 1988 or later type-2 valve body, you can use the more economical “junior kit”, our part #SK 700-JR and achieve the same results.
Common complaints and failures of this transmission are: 2-4 band and 3-4 clutch failure, 1-2 slide bump, 2-3 cut-loose, low/reverse clutch failure, no 4th or falling out of 4th as well as 4-3-4-3 shuttle shifts and the infamous 3-2 coast downshift bang with the lever in the D3 range.

The kit features our patented Bootstrap® TV system that addresses the root cause of the band, 3-4 clutch, late and early shift failures by providing an all new TV system. In addition, this kit provides specifically calibrated components to work with the new TV system and address the other complaints. Lastly, we have included an optional torque converter lock-up without wiring or electrical for 1982 to 1987 valve bodies that are equipped with OE valving or dummy plugs.
